Shaman King Kang Zeng Bang : couvertures tome 1 & 2

New Hiroyuki Takei Joint oneshot manga

New Hiroyuki Takei X Stan Lee mangaFrom the latest Jump SQ issue, hitting stands on March 4th, is a brand new advertisement, which states that on April 18th, a special Jump SQ edition will be released. Within this special issue is a special, one time only manga, drawn by BOTH Hiroyuki Takei and Stan Lee! For those who are unaware, Stan Lee has worked on the following American comics:

Jump SQ, since it’s launch has had several manga artists working together on special oneshot mangas, but this is the first time an American artist has had his work published in Jump SQ. Oneshot mangas tend to be be around 60 pages in length, but no number of pages were released with this ad.

As soon as we have more information on this developing story we will update here on Shaman King Nation!

Shaman King Kang Zeng Bang : Site Web officiel

Website, POP, new ad, Badge Campaign, and Page numbers

Mankin Net : Shaman King Kang Zeng Bang official WebsiteEarly this morning, the official website for the Shaman King reprint volumes was launched. The website, called “Mankin Net” as of right now, only contains a countdown clock to the launch of the reprint volumes. Call it a hunch, but they don’t often do countdown clocks, so my guess is that there is going to be some kind of big update on the website (like new SK chapters in Jump SQ) You can find the website here:

Weekly Shonen Jump Ad 2A new scanned ad from Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #13 has also been found. This ad only has a clearer image of both Volumes and contains no new information which hasn’t been reported yet.

Earlier in the week, some images of the Shaman King POP (Point of Purchase, or Pop-out Promotion) have been discovered. These are some stands advertising the new Shaman King volumes. On these stands, as shown in the picture, it appears that there will be a “Badge Campaign.” Taking from experience (as the POP doesn’t give much detail about it), it is to be assumed that with each reprint volume there is a order form for 1 of 30 different badge designs (which I believe are random). No word on pricing or what the designs are, outside of the first design, Amidamaru (shown the the POP).

Finally, as of this printing, several websites are being updated with new info about the 2 reprint volumes. The first pages which have been updated are the following:
http://www.s-book.com/plsql/com2_detail?isbn=9784088742038
http://www.s-book.com/plsql/com2_detail?isbn=9784088742045

It is to be assumed within the next 24-48 hours, the rest of the Shueisha websites will be updated with color images and a preview of each of the volumes. But until then, we have the following preliminary information:

Volume 1 contains 288 pages. Within these 288 pages, we estimate the following:

- Chapters 1-8 (originally from Volume 1, 208 pages)
- Chapter 9-12 (originally from Volume 2, 76 pages)
- Plus 4 extra pages (for the “World Tour”)

Volume 2 contains 236 pages. Within these 236 pages, we estimate the following:

- Chapter 13-17 (originally from Volume 2, 116 pages)
- Chapter 18-23(originally from Volume 3, 114 pages)
- Plus 6 extra pages (for the “World Tour”)

As new information is discovered we will update this news article. Please check back for updates!

Weekly Shonen Jump ad for Vol. reprints

Weekly Shonen Jump adIn the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan, this ad for Shaman King Volume reprints (Kang Zeng Bang) was printed. The top of the ad contained the same information that was previously reported. The body of the ad contains the following translations:

- There will be 380 pages for the new ending (more than two normal volumes!)
- There will be more than 200 color images in total, includying new information profiles for the characters
- There will be 27 new “oversoul covers”, all of them with shaman + spirit overlay

Yoh is saying, “Sorry for the wait, but I had to keep it a secret.”

Under that is explaining about how it’s been 10 years since Shaman King was first printed and that the volumes will be reprinted starting on March 4th, 2008.

Finally, at the bottom right we can see the final version of Volume 1 and Volume 2. The was some changes made to Volume 1 compared to the original image of it. Nothing major, and the cover looks about the same, unless you look for the changes.

Shaman King manga volume reprints will be on sale starting March 4th in Japan. Shaman King Nation will have a complete review of both volumes on March 10th.

New Reprint Volume info [Updated]

(Updated once as of 02-06-08, with new scan)
(Updated again on 02-06-08, with English scan and corrected information)

Note: Some orginal, preliminary translations were incorrect. They have thus been corrected. Some errors may still exist, but little to no importance is lost.

Well, our original guess was March 4th, 2008 for reprint volumes 1 & 2 has been proven correct today. Below is a LQ scan of an ad for the reprint manga volumes of Shaman King in JumpSQ#3 which has just been released.

(Click below for the orginal scan and the English scanlation)

HQ version of Jump SQ adEnglish version of JumpSQ SK ad

¤ So, the first “new” thing, was the cover overlay, which was already reported.

¤ Again, reported earlier, there will be a proper ending for the series. So far, no hints on what’s in it, besides finishing up the Shaman Fight, and more fights to come.

¤ The next is new “Spirit-ball form,” which was already known, and mentioned above in this same ad, which will be on the cover of some volumes.

¤ This next one is the “Binding art.” On the binding of each volume there is a small piece of artwork. Often it’s just a snapshot of the cover. However, with reprint volumes they tend to make some continuation of artwork that spans across all the volumes. So this will be a small picture that will grow as new volumes are released.

¤ The “World Tour” is a scary concept. This is the term Takei used after Shaman King ended the first time, since he took a trip out to France. Then he took a trip again after Jumbor was finished. Of course this could have the meaning that Shaman King is becoming more international or something. Even with this better scan, it’s hard to tell exactly what this new section will be, but it will contain at least 1 color page, and it’s not the new chapters.

¤ The final one is cut off. But it starts with “Character (something).” Some possibilities are:
- New Character designs
- New Character introduction
- New Character pin-ups (such as posters and such)

Finally, the last 2 comments tell what will be on the covers of the first 2 volumes. Again, nothing we haven’t already predicted.

As of right now, it still doesn’t show that Shaman King will be in March’s JumpSQ issue. So it may be a few more months off before it jumps into JumpSQ. They may want to hold off and see how well the reprint volumes sell before adding it to JumpSQ.

The ISBNs are:
Volume 1 : 978-4-08-874203-8
Volume 2: 978-4-08-874204-5

So keep watching Shaman King Nation for more news updates! We will also be posting locations to pre-order these volumes once this information is distributed to retailers.
