Hiroyuki Takei, Shaman King, Jumbor, and Ultimo News Source
Back in 2008, the Shaman King anime was re-released in collector’s boxes in Japan. These contained all 64 episodes, plus specials, in a total of 3 boxes. The episodes remained exactly the same, but new art was drawn by Takei for the collector’s boxes.
As of right now, all three boxes are considered Out of Print. Retailers will only be selling their remaining copies and no more will be printed. Additionally, BOX2 is becoming a challenge to find, as some online retailers no longer have copies. Since they are out of print, it is unlikely that they will receive anymore. Amazon.co.jp, is down to a remaining handful of copies left. Secondary markets, such as Yahoo Auctions Japan, still have plenty of copies, but retailers with factory sealed packaging are selling out.
These collector’s boxes were only sold in Japan. Various other releases of the Shaman King anime in a box set form also released in China and France.
