Hiroyuki Takei, Shaman King, Jumbor, and Ultimo News Source
[UPDATED] The original news post said that it would still include the “Oversoul covers,” this is a mistake. There is only one cover, and that image is the same as the Japanese cover with the “Oversoul cover” image pressed together.
On October 27th, the first volume of the “Shaman King Perfect Edition” will go on sale in Italy by Star Comics. The price will be € 5.90 and will be released monthly. It has also been confirmed that the cover art of the volumes will be the same as the Japanese editions (including all of the original Japanese, and not including the publisher on the cover). The Italian editions will combine the covers into a single image (as shown to the left). It’s not confirmed if the binding art will remain the same as well.
We will continue to follow as new volumes are being released in Italy.

I believe it will come to America. It’s just a matter of time.
And this is just a gate for the Perfect Editions to be released in the rest of Europe!
Hope to put my hands in one copy soon.

I’m very proud Italy is the first country to publish SK KZB, it remarks how Italy is good when you talk about mangas: it is a mile ahead of America, and that’s for sure.
I saw a big comics-store NYC and there was a full floor for mangas, but they looked pretty bad. Bigger (and worse) format, high prices, no diversity; it is understandable, nobody wants manga to sell in America, but it was quite disappointing.
In Italy we have more series (and more publishers), many different editions (with different prices, from the standard 3.90€ to excellent stuff which is 10.90€), a lot of extras. I’m really, really proud we’re the first country to publish this new edition, after Star Comics finished to publish the original series back in 2006.

I’m happy to see this edition being released elsewhere! Hopefully it’ll make its way to America eventually.

Damn! Italians are so lucky!! In North America, we barely get manga releases because of how poorly the industry is doing over here. We don’t even have series like Beelzebub, Sket Dance(not sure if Europe has this but they have Beelzebub so I’m assuming they do), or even To Love Ru! Not to mention popular titles and Reborn(KHR) and Gintama are pretty much cancelled over here.
I blame the piracy though, reading online is just too easy and tempting =\. Although I shouldn’t speak too soon; hopefully this series comes over here because I really want to purchase/collect it and this will make everything easier.
