Hiroyuki Takei, Shaman King, Jumbor, and Ultimo News Source
In the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan, this ad for Shaman King Volume reprints (Kang Zeng Bang) was printed. The top of the ad contained the same information that was previously reported. The body of the ad contains the following translations:
- There will be 380 pages for the new ending (more than two normal volumes!)
- There will be more than 200 color images in total, includying new information profiles for the characters
- There will be 27 new “oversoul covers”, all of them with shaman + spirit overlay
Yoh is saying, “Sorry for the wait, but I had to keep it a secret.”
Under that is explaining about how it’s been 10 years since Shaman King was first printed and that the volumes will be reprinted starting on March 4th, 2008.
Finally, at the bottom right we can see the final version of Volume 1 and Volume 2. The was some changes made to Volume 1 compared to the original image of it. Nothing major, and the cover looks about the same, unless you look for the changes.
Shaman King manga volume reprints will be on sale starting March 4th in Japan. Shaman King Nation will have a complete review of both volumes on March 10th.

dissapointing… of course still good that we get some kind of closure, but 380 pages is only around 19 chapters, which honestly I don’t think is enough to properly end this manga. We’ll see I guess.

@Heretic
380 pages, or 19 chapters as you put it, is almost 2 volumes of new content!~ How can that not be enough to properly close it?

@Fox
You kidding me? there’s like 7 more patch officials, Goldva, Hao, and of course plot in between. now considering at a minimum of 2 chapter per 7 officials (14) plus minimum of 3 for Goldva(17) plus about 5 for Hao, that what I think a minimum of chapters is needed to properly deal with what’s left(22). and I think that the final fight should last at least an entire fight. Anyway I’ve only read up to what mankin-trad has released, so I don’t know abut the remaining 10 or so chapters. Don’t get me wrong, I love the fact that there is more, but is it enough? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I really hope he won’t do a magical plot no jutsu, and deal with the remaining patch members just like that to make room for Hao.

I don’t think the plot will develop more in the Yoh&Cie VS Patch fight. It doesn’t lead anywhere and that’s why the serie ended.
Hao is already with the Great Spirit, I think that in the new chapters, Hao will already obtain the Great Spirit, so the fight with the patch will be useless.
