Shonen Jump Sept 2010 Issue Details

The September issue of Shonen Jump (Volume 8, issue 9), is a very unique issue for Hiroyuki Takei fans. In this issue there is both a chapter of Shaman King and Ultimo in the same issue. Shaman King chapter 258 “Extraordinary Days” is a special preview chapter for this one issue only. This chapter is the first chapter in volume 30, which is released on September 7th. There is an additional featire  as a recap of the Shaman Fight (written by Jason Thompson) included after the chapter. For online content, there is an additional article online for members of the Sub Club.

You can read a preview of the Shaman King chapter here. The entire chapter is included in the issue of Shonen Jump.

The Ultimo chapter this month was Chapter 15 “Battle at the Antique Shop.” Stan Lee’s spider references were very strong in this chapter. The only minor edit was the removal of Jealousy’s comment of “Shit!” which was replaced by “Grrr!”. There were no other edits in the chapter.

You can read a preview of the Ultimo chapter here. The full chapter was printed in the issue of Shonen Jump.

Finally, we HIGHLY recommend that you complete Viz’s reader survey, which can be found here (even if you didn’t buy the issue). Show your support for both Ultimo and the Shaman King series. You can also place your comments in the last field of the form. Your support for Hiroyuki Takei can help bring over even more of his works!

Mankin Net is online !

Shaman King Complete Edition (KanZenBan or Kang Zeng Bang) official website is now online.

Website front page contains :
- the 6 Kang Zeng Bang new features (Oversoul Covers, new 380 pages for the end …[see older post]) on the left,
- and the volume 1 cover on the right.

Website Menu is at the bottom, and there’s only two pages for the all website.
- The first one takes you to a page displaying all the volume, with a link to their preview via s-manga.net. Only links to released volume are available.
- The second one takes you to the message board, where you can give your opinion.

After previewing the first chapters on S-manga, I can say :

  • 5 first pages of chapter 1 are colored, and volume 1 have chapters 1 – 9
  • 4 first pages of chapter 11 are colored, and volume 2 have chapters 10 – 20
  • There’s a [SHAMAN FILE] in each volume.

For the moment, we haven’t any more informations, and nothing about the extra.
I don’t know if the first page of all the chapters are colored, or only the volume first pages. But the extra colors pages we see are already colored and published in the artbook some years ago, so no new news ….
As for the chapters colors page, we can also guess that they’re already colored some years ago, because in the old edition, these pages are printed with these colored pages (look at the contrast level).
